Fruit fly

The fruit fly is a holomet√°bolo insect (it refers to the process in which an insect passes through its development through a complete metamorphosis of four states: egg, larva, pupa and adult) originating in Africa. The activity of Anastrepha increases in spring reaching maximum activity in summer, and pupae can remain inactive during winter if the weather conditions are not favorable, It produces direct damage due to the effect of the female bite on the fruit, to perform oviposition, which is a pathway for fungi and bacteria that break down the pulp; and to the galleries generated by the larvae during their feeding. All this produces an early maturation and fall of the fruit, and the consequent loss of harvest.
